It was during the construction of a new church in the late nineteenth century that this Romanesque crypt was found by chance. The crypt has 12 rooms with 4000 m2 of painted wall surface and some 473 intriguing objects. One finds there:
In 2013, a major renovation program was launched. He intended to restore all the murals and other archaeological remains. Therefore, the remains of the old medieval church, the nave, the road or the remains of the old Roman barracks have been updated. It is to better present this new place that the city of Boulogne-sur-Mer offers an access guide for smartphones and tablets.
